Lock Your Computer on Mouse Click..

Instead of pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL or windows + L to lock your machine you can create an icon to lock your machine. There are very simple steps by using it you can simply lock your computer
using single mouse click.


Just Follow the simple step:-


1. Right click

an empty spot on the desktop, point to New and click Shortcut.

2. In the Create Shortcut dialog box, type the following in the 'Type the location' of the item text box:

rundll32 user32.dll,LockWorkStation
3.Then in 'type a name for this shortcut' box write ''''anyname
4.Click finish
5.Now when you click the icon your computer will be locked.

Customize the Windows 7 log-on screen

Windows 7 makes it easy changing the Windows log-on screen.
1. Go to start, and click on Run, type Regedit & press enter there.
2. Navigate to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\ LogonUI\Background
3. Double-click the OEMBackground DWORD key

4. Set value of the key to 1.




5. Select a background image for Logon Screen with size less than 256KB in size (Use of Image Resize software like VSO Resizer can help)
6. Copy that image into the C:\Windows\system32\oobe\info\backgrounds folder
7. Rename the image to backgroundDefault.jpg
8. Reboot, and now your logon Image would have changed.

How to Cleanly and Quickly Terminate and Restart Windows Explorer

Windows XP
  1. Open the Start menu
  2. Click “Turn Off Computer”
  3. Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys and click the "Cancel" button.

Windows Vista and Windows 7

  1. Open the Start menu
  2. Hold down the Ctrl + Shift keys and right-click in an empty spot inside the Start menu. (Keep holding down the keys while you click.)
  3. A hidden menu will pop up 
  4. Click “Exit Explorer”
After either of these procedures you may have a very empty screen but the system is still operating. If you have changed the default Explorer settings to "Launch folder windows in a separate process",  then some folder windows may not close when you apply this trick.

How to restart Windows Explorer

To restore Windows Explorer in all versions of Windows, do the following:
  1. Press the keyboard combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc  to launch Task Manager
  2. In Task Manager, open the "File” menu
  3. Choose “New Task (Run...)"
  4. Type "Explorer" and click OK
Windows Explorer will reappear.
